Trees For Tomorrow

This ski season, every time you buy any Capital Brewing Co beer (tap or tin) up in the Snowies you’re contributing to getting trees in the ground!

Partnering with Jindabyne based environmental charity Keep It Cool, we aim to plant trees in the Snowy Monaro region to draw down carbon, create new habitats for wildlife and reduce erosion of soil. Australia’s ecosystem is fragile and needs as much help as possible, so we are committed to preserving the beauty of the land against climate change and upholding our status as Australia’s first 100% Carbon Neutral Brewery.

Keep It Cool’s Founder Lucas Wilkinson said

“The planting will include trees and understory species native to the region, including Eucalyptus Pauciflora (Snow Gum) and E. Viminalis (Ribbon Gum) which many visitors to the region will be aware has been subject to significant dieback over recent decades”.

The Snowy Mountains are an area we love. Pure wilderness and a landscape unlike any other in the world. We’ve made plenty of memories up there over the years on back-country trips, and we hope for many more in years to come.

We’ll be taking a group of staff and volunteers on a planting day (free beers & BBQ) to plant every promised tree in its new home on the 16th of October.
